Last month, we dwell extensively on how to hear God’s voice and divine direction by the power of God’s voice. God has inspired me to write all the articles for the month of May and as we look forward to the new month, that is, the month of June, we will be believing God for the same inspiration. For all those who have just joined us, quickly browse through the blog for Holy Ghost-inspired articles on how to obtain divine direction by the power of God’s voice. God bless you!

In this month of June, we will be focusing on the power of declaratory prayers. Many of us often believe that it is only when we pray that God can move and change things. This belief may have been fortified by the kind of teaching we have been receiving in our various churches. There is an aspect of prayer that doesn’t have to do with you praying in tongues or praying in the English language. These types of prayers are powerful if only we can learn the principles guiding them.

I want you to see something the Bible says concerning the words of declaration.

Job 22:28

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Once you can make the right declaration concerning certain situations, the Bible says it will be established. If only you can make the declarations, it will be done. Your declarations must come with authority for it to be enforced. That authority has been given to you on the day of redemption, that is, your salvation. The Bible says in the book of John 1:12 that all those who believe in me I have given them the power to become the sons of God. And you are that son.

The Bible says kings ruled by decrees.

Proverbs 8:15

By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

And are you a king? Well, we will have to look at the Bible to see that.

Revelation 1:6

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

You are a king by virtue of what Jesus had done on the cross of Calvary so you can rule by decrees.

Making your decrees effective

Perhaps this is the first place we should begin. Your ability to command deliverance onto yourself or unto others depends on the knowledge of who you are in Christ Jesus. If you know who you are in Christ Jesus, then you can speak words and believe that they will come to pass. Being a king, you can issue decrees physically and something will happen in the spirit realm.

How to know who you are

Studying your Bible

Understanding the works of the spirit in your life

Reading anointed books and materials

Your decrees become effective when they emanate from the standpoint of knowledge. You know that you are not speaking vain words into the air but issue decrees which will be obeyed as a ruler. There is power in the words that come out of your mouth if only you can speak them. The Bible says you will decree a thing, and it will be established. Whenever you begin to say I decree this and decree that, I declare this and declare that you have set in motion an irresistible power that cannot be stopped.

When your decrees are scripturally based, they must come to pass. The earth which we see today was created by decrees spoken from the mouth of God. The Bible says in the book of Genesis chapter 1 that the earth was formless and void. It was in this chaotic state of the earth that God began his creative work by issuing decrees to the formless earth and the earth took shape. We also have to learn from what God did to the earth when he was creating it. The Bible says he calls those things that were not as though they were (Romans 4:17).

The problem is often time we get discouraged because we feel that nothing is happening physically which we can see with our own eyes. But the believer’s walk is a walk of faith and not walk of sight (1 Corinthians 5:7). When you begin to make decrees and declarations like, my health is sound because Jesus took away the infirmity of migraine headaches on the cross of Calvary, my bank account is filled with money because Jesus has already made provision for me according to his riches in glory, my eyesight is good because by his stripes I am healed, all my children are going to be saved and serve the Lord Jesus by the power of the blood of Jesus, I am not weak because I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. Nothing may be happening physically when you start making these decrees but as you persist in decreeing and declaring, a change must occur. We can take advantage of the power of the cross of Calvary to decree things that are not as if they are.

This will be our focus this month of June. You will learn the power of declaratory prayers. Remain tune for the rest of the month as the Lord guides us this month to understand the power of declaratory prayers.
