God bless all those who recently joined our mailing list. I believe that the Lord will bless you through our weekly newsletter.

Last week, we discussed some of the practical ways to pray in order to unlock financial blessings. I talked about giving as a platform for praying financial blessings over your life. Today, I am going to be sharing with you something important – rewards you get after giving.

It is a misconceived notion that some believers have that whenever they give money out, money must come back to them. God is not a bank that you will give him money and he gives you back. The reward of financial giving can come in various forms and fashions. We will be looking at some of the various ways by which a life of giving can provoke unusual results.

1 Kings 3:4

And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

1 Kings 3:12-13

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.3:13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

Solomon gave a thousand burnt offering to God and when God wanted to reward him, God gave him what he had asked for and added more to him. He blessed him beyond measure and went over his expectation. When believers are praying to God for financial blessings alone after becoming givers, they are limiting God. God can give you above what you have given.

Solomon gave to God. And the Lord blessed him with wisdom, understanding and wealth.

So what are the rewards of giving?

Divine wisdom

When you give to God he can reward you with wisdom. So it is not all the time that you give to God that He will bless you with money back. If God gave you money, then we bless his name for that. If you sowed a seed of $100 or gave to the Lord and he Blesses you with $1000 that is great. Yet the same God can bless you with wisdom to make $1,000,000. Which one do you prefer the money or the wisdom?

 Divine Health

Many of us aren’t aware that the life of giving can provoke unusual divine health. God in his mercies can reward your giving with divine health. I have met a sister who hasn’t fallen sick in 17 years. So it is possible and God can bless you with health after such an act of giving.

Divine Protection

Divine protection is a gift to those who have made giving a lifestyle. Job was such a powerful giver so God made a hedge around the life of Job and all the things that belong to him. The devil fought so hard to break the hedge that surrounds the life of Job, but he couldn’t until he went and sought permission from God to attack the life of Job.

Favour

This is another blessing that a giver can get. When you become a sower, you make yourself a candidate of divine favour that whenever you knock, doors must open. And favour is an important factor in the life of every child of God that even Jesus needed it to fulfill his ministry. The Bible says, the boy Jesus grew in wisdom, in stature, and favour with man and with God (Luke 2:52).  God can give you divine favour after you have given to him.
