I’d shared some interesting revelations on this blog. I wait for inspiration before I write my articles. Recently, the Lord has been telling me to do a series. Where I will teach on a particular topic for a whole month so that you can learn from it and be blessed. For the month of March, we will be dealing with Love and wisdom for love. I pray that the Lord will help us in this series. Please, do share your thoughts on the topic by commenting on the blog post.
Love. Look at those letters carefully. Your salvation is anchored on it. Love is the driving force of all children of God. Love is everything to God and to a believer. If Jesus hadn’t loved, he won’t have come down to die for you and I. To the kingdom of God love is everything. The amount you give to God as your offering is not as important as the love in your heart with which the giving is done. God loves a cheerful giver. God loves someone who gives with love. That is what the Bible means.
The day your love life for God begins to dwindle, that day, you must cry to God for restoration. The Church in the city of Ephesus had everything.
Psalms 27:1: Revelation 2:1-4
Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labor, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them liars:And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
They fasted. They were a praying Church. They were preaching and evangelizing. They labored unceasingly day and night. Yet Jesus found fault with their service on the ground that they weren’t doing it with deep love. They had lost their first love.
The Apostle Paul was known for his brutality in preaching the gospel, yet the gasoline that kept him going throughout his life was fiery love for God. There was a time someone prophesied that if Paul should go to Jerusalem, he would be bound. Instantly, tears formed a formidable presence in the eyes of the brethren as they wept sore. Interestingly, the man whom they were weeping for had a nice rebuke for their crying party in the Book of Acts 21:13
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
He wasn’t only willing to go to the same place he had been warned about, but also to die there for the sake of the Lord. Only Love can give you such conviction and temerity.
If you can mount a guard over your love life for God, you will be successful in everything that you do as a child of God. Love will keep you from sin.
Joseph had all the opportunity to take vengeance, when his brothers coated in the garment of envy and jealousy, sold him to the Egyptians. His brothers became the first in the entire Bible to make merchandise of human life. As time steadily cruise by, they found themselves in a position of desperation for life and death. The only place that would offer succor to them was Egypt, headed by Joseph. These were the same brothers that said, let us sell him and see what becomes of his dream. Behold this dreamer! They derided him and combined their words of derision with action — they sold him.

As Joseph staggered in hesitation on what to do with his brethren, he said in Genesis 42:18
And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God
In other words, Joseph was saying that if not that I love God. I would have done with you the same thing you did with me thirteen years ago. He had all the power to ruin the lives of his brothers, but one thing restrained him — LOVE.
The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 4:8
Above all, continue to love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins
The sin that would have found expression in your life is controlled and restrained by love. If you ever heard that a believer has returned back to the world, then know that the love in the heart of that person for the Lord had gone. The greatest thing that the devil fights in the life of a child of God is not his car, his properties, the good job he has. What he fights is the love that you have in your heart for the Lord. If he gets that, he had caught the man, or he had succeeded in destroying the faith of that man. One cry we must always be willing to let out as soon as we discover that our love for the Lord is dwindling is a cry for restoration. And the signs of disappearing love in the heart of a man are everywhere. From skipping prayer times to lesser and lesser Bible studies. No time for God and no time for his presence. Before the person knows, the heart of that man has gone far away from the Lord.
Running the Love Diagnostics
Knowing if your heart is still yearning for the Lord in order to lead a victorious Christian life is important. You will need to examine your life.
- Make a practical list of things you were fervent in doing that you have put the brakes on. Hebrews 12:11.
- Are you still the way you use to be or things have crept into your life?
- What practical step do you feel you need to take now? Pray or do you want to keep waiting?
God bless you
