If you have been on our list as of 6 January 2020, you might have participated in the 21 days January supernatural shift fast. The prayers were power-packed, and someone who recently joined our mailing list told me how he had to start the fast.

As beautiful as January fast maybe, you can’t stop at that level alone. Continuity in the realm of the spirit is what will guarantee life-changing results. I will tell you what you need to do more.

  1. Maintain a regular fasting schedule

One-time fasting is good. But regular fasting is better. Have a day or two in a week where you will fast and wait on the Lord. This strengthens you and keeps you ready for any emergency that the devil may throw at you. A regular fasting schedule keeps you away from the wariness in the course of the year. As a personal principle in my own life, I maintain a fasting lifestyle. Beside my schedule fast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and Sundays, most of the times I don’t eat breakfast until it is 12 PM. I do this to keep my spirit strong

  1. Maintain a Buoyant Prayer Life

Whenever the enemy wants to attack a man, he first cripples his prayer altar. That way, all his attacks can find expression in the life of that man. This 2020 you need to ask God for the spirit of grace and supplication. It isn’t about praying in the month of January and forgetting about prayer for the rest of the year. The Bible says we should pray all the time.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Be Full of Love

I want to tell you one thing that you might not have imagined. Some of the prayers you have prayed in January, the answers are in the hands of men. Or to put it in a better way, God will use people to bring those answers into reality. Show love to all and sundry who may come your way. Naaman may have been praying for healing, but his answer to where the healing would come was in the hands of a little girl who told him to go to the land of Israel, a Prophet would cure him of his leprosy.

2 Kings 5:3

And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

David helped a servant left for dead by his master when they invaded part of Judah. He gave him water and bread to drink. It was the same servant who told David where his master had gone to.

1 Samuel 30:11-16

And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water;

12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.

13 And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick.

14 We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.

15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.

16 And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.

  1. Be Sensitive to the Spirit

Your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit can affect the manifestation of your answers to the prayers that you have prayed. God may have answered and is nudging you to take a leading, but insensitivity may make you miss it. For instance, we have prayed in January for divine Direction. Yet it takes sensitivity to know that it is God that is leading you.  On 11th February 2020, I had the leading to charge my laptop so that I could use it the next day. The leading was so faint in my heart, and it came about the time I was about turning in to sleep for the night.  The next day, we had power cuts and I couldn’t use my laptop for a long time because it wasn’t fully charged to capacity.

  1. Don’t be a Victim

Discouragement may come. Situations may present a contrary expectation to what you believed. Stay strong and trust the Lord. The Lord didn’t promise us that we won’t pass through the valley of the shadow of death, he promised that he will never leave us. So even in the valley of the shadow of death, he is with us.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, supply me with the grace to fast continually this year in the name of Jesus. I bind every spirit of gluttony out of my life and destiny in the name of Jesus.

Lord, I pray that you baptize me with the spirit of prayer in the name of Jesus.

Holy Father, help me with the grace to show love to all people despite their shortcomings in the name of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, I make demands for a higher level of sensitivity to your spirit in Jesus name.

Gracious Father, help me not to be a victim of easy discouragement in the name of Jesus.
