It Is Your Choice

The Bible gave this very key instructive direction concerning the words of our mouths. It says a man’s belly shall be satisfied by the fruit of his lips.

Proverbs 18:20

A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

So your satisfaction in life is highly dependent upon the words of your mouth. When it comes to the issue of satisfaction in life, you have a choice in the matter.

Do you want your life to be loaded with God’s blessings? Then it is up to you to choose the words that come out from your mouth. If you want to be filled to overflowing or even half-satisfaction in life that decision has been left in your hands by God. You’ve got to speak the right words that are in alignment with scriptural truth.

No one will assume that duty for me. And no one will assume that duty for you either. God has given us the power of decision in that area. If I want my life to be full of the blessings of God and his glory, then it is up to me to choose the words that I speak from my lips. This is because the words that I speak today will determine the satisfaction of tomorrow. Right words, right tomorrow. Wrong word, wrong tomorrow. It is as simple as that.

While the disciples were gloating over who Jesus is to others, Jesus once again brought the question home.

 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (Matthew 16:15)

Probably, when this question was asked, steep silence stole the air. They were wondering who Jesus is. We have been with him, heard his teaching, ate with him, and listened intently to his saying and even to his miraculous works. They saw so many miracles, yet this question was unsettling to them. While they lingered on, Peter said:

Friends, there is no better way of investing in your tomorrow. All you have to do is speak right in accordance with the word of God. And God isn’t making a mistake when he left us a choice in the matter of deciding what our life will be in the future. He knows that he has given us the grace and the capacity to speak according to his word. The right words will affect our living. Just as the wrong word will also affect our living.

You can’t do anything about your past, but you can do something about your future. And as for you as a child of God, your powerful tool for shaping your tomorrow lies in your hands. Your wealth, your strength, your finances, your blessings, and your safety are all encoded on your tongue.

Speak to the hearing of God and the devil because the words that you keep speaking every day will become what you will live out tomorrow.

Declare the words without shame. It doesn’t matter who is listening to you. I am the head and not the tail. It doesn’t matter who is thinking you have gone crazy. Sometimes we get ourselves too busy with what others think about us. Whenever a child of God begins to do anything that is related to his God, it becomes abnormal. But I want to tell you something, if you want to be normal in this abnormal world, then you’ve got a problem in your hands. People do everything that is contrary to moral standards on the street, but when a believer wants to say anything that is connected to his God, people begin to raise eyebrows.

Beloved, speak don’t mind who is listening or who is complaining about your words.
