No one is a stranger to VOICES. Except if the person was born deaf and dumb, and his means of hearing impaired. Your words are communicated through the instrument of your voice. And interestingly, the Holy Spirit also communicates to us through his voice.

When God wanted to unleash his creative powers in the earth to create something from nothing, he used his voice. It was his words that broke the darkness that hung over the earth and formed everything you can see today.

It means that voice is a powerful tool for changing the life of a believer on earth.

God speaks to us through the Holy Ghost. See the book of Hebrews 1:1.

And the voice of the Holy Spirit that speaks to you every time is what God uses to change you.

So many believers aren’t aware of the fact that the voice of the Holy Spirit changes them. The greatest thing that can ever happen to you is to have the Holy Spirit speaking to you in your ears all the time. It mustn’t always be the inner ear of your spirit that God uses to speak to you, in whatever form you hear God, be it through dreams, trances, or visions, if  what you are hearing is the voice of God, there is a power in that voice, a spiritual mystery of transformation that God uses to change you!

The bible tells us that God speaks to us through his Son this last day. It will seem strange that the Bible says so in the Book of Hebrews 1:1. Jesus is not physically here with you, yet his voice echoes in every nook and cranny of the earth. He does his speaking through the Holy Spirit. See the book of John 16:13.

The Holy Spirit simply says what he hears Jesus says to us.

The voice of God is what changes you and me. There is power in voices and in words. We are cautioned in the Book of 1 Corinthians 15:33 about the company we keep.

1 Corinthians 15:33

1 Corinthians 15:33

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

The main ingredient that corrupt good morals are the words you hear. Words carry spirit and life in them. People can be crushed by your words. Your words can build, and it can also destroy. Your longevity as a believer is tied to your words (see 1 Peter 3:10).

People who walk with those who have bad character will one day pick up the character of the people that they walk with. The influence did not come by just walking with those people. It came because those people spoke their lifestyles into the believers. No wonder the bible says we are to stay off from an ungodly company. There is even a blessing attached to staying away from an ungodly company. Corruption comes through communication.

Psalms 1:1-3
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

A man who walks in the company of a fornicator will soon start fornicating, not because he saw the individual fornicated, but because the fornicator spoke his life of fornication into him.

The bible says the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. John 6:63 makes that point very clear to us.

John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The words of Jesus carry two main essential components – spirit and life. So each time you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, it is the life of God that is poured into you. God uses his voice to change our lives because the voice of God is the carrier of life and spirit. The greatest agent of change God uses to transform our lives is and will remain his voice.
If you look carefully through the pages of the Holy Bible, God attributed the fulfillment of the promises of the nation to Isaac because “Abraham obeyed my voice.” (See Genesis 22:5)

God knows the potentials his voice carries, so he wants us to pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is saying because it holds the greatest power of transformation. He has used it in the time past, and he is still using it till today. It was the word that he spoke into the earth that formed it.
Words spoken by the Holy Spirit are soaked in power. Ezekiel 2:2 the bible says as he spoke unto me the spirit entered me and set me upon my feet.

Ezekiel 2:2
And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

When the Holy Spirit speaks, he releases life and spirit. There is a spirit in every spoken word. When God is speaking to you, the words he is communicating to you as instructions are in actuality spirit and life. And that is why some believers who do not understand the power in words would associate themselves with people who live ungodly lives. Within a very short period, they find themselves living the life of the ungodly men and the ungodly women around them. It is not because they only walked with those people. The reason why they are behaving the way that they are doing now is that the ungodly people have spoken their life of ungodliness through words into their lives. As they speak, the spirit of fornication kept entering them. With time, they become reflections of the words that they have heard.

From the day that you realize this all-important truth about the voice of God, you will seek to hear God. I am not saying you should go and begin to pray that God should speak to you in a particular way, but you just pray generally so that you hear the voice of the Lord speak to you as a son or daughter. It is God impacting his life through what you hear. The words that I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life and from the day you understand this spiritual truth, your own perspective about the voice of the Holy Ghost will change.

There is power in words of the living God and if you understand the power of words, then you will make a decision to watch out for your company. This truth that has been unveiled to you about the voice of the Holy Spirit will drive a passionate desire to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in your life every day. His voice is a powerful tool of transformation and impartation.

God imparts his nature and character through the word that he speaks to us.
